Brewer Warwick Little has taken three medals for three beers entered in the 2008 Perth Royal Beer Show on the back of recent successes at the 2008 Sydney Royal Beer Competition and the 2008 Australian International Beer Awards.
Wicked Elf Pale Ale and Wicked Elf Witbier received silver medals and Wicked Elf Pilsner received a bronze medal in the Perth competition.
“As a relative newcomer, we're very pleased with this result from the Perth Royal Beer Show as it affirms the quality of the beer we produce and that, as a small batch brewery, we are producing quality with consistency,” said Managing Director (and brewer's wife), Kylie Little.
“With only one beer not gaining a medal in one competition we've almost achieved a 100 percent strike rate when it comes to the number of medals for the number of beers entered in our first three competitions,” Kylie said.
The Perth Royal Beer Show, which is in its second year in 2008, attracted 273 entries from 59 breweries in Australia .
Wicked Elf Pale Ale was again a strong performer in Perth with the only silver medal in the American Pale Ale Packaged class behind the gold medal of the iconic Little Creatures. Wicked Elf Witbier's silver medal was one of two silver medals (no gold) awarded in the Wheat Beer Packaged – Other class, and the bronze medal Wicked Elf Pilsner was one of two bronze medals awarded in the Lager Packaged – Pilsner class (no gold or silver medals awarded).
“Eight medals across three beers when you are not yet ready to reprint packaging will mean many additional hours spent applying medal stickers by hand. I guess there'll be no rest for the Wicked!” Kylie added.
